Why is loving one’s nation and putting its countrymen first so offensive?

In an effort to intimidate some of the Jewish senators and congressmen thinking of voting against Obama’s Iran deal, there are murmurs from Team Obama about “dual loyalty” and not caving into ‘Jewish donors” – old, anti-Semitic canards. Some have called those planning to vote against the deal “traitors.” The truth is, voting for a moral cause on behalf of one’s people has never been considered an act of dual loyalty, as evidenced, for example, when the entire Congressional Black Caucus voted to place sanctions on South Africa during its apartheid years. This was rightly considered the moral thing to do and brought with it many votes from non-black congressmen. Surely, Mr. Obama, who found such acts of conscience admirable, should not now reverse himself when it comes to a Jewish act of conscience. If the living conditions and equality needs of Blacks in South Africa were worthy causes, then certainly the actual saving of Jewish lives from a nuclear inferno constitutes a moral act.

One of the most alarming and catastrophic elements being overlooked in this week's give-away deal to the mullahs is that Iran will soon receive $150 billion dollars. With that money they can immediately go after Israel with tens of billions in horrific conventional weapons, missiles, and rockets ... way before any nuclear bomb is fully functional. Israel will be overwhelmed as never before, and America will be more vulnerable to Iranian plots, financed, bizarrely, by Mr. Obama's giveaways. The mullahs can now echo Lenin: "The west will supply us the rope to hang them."

Much has been said about the strange behavior of Barack Obama, who can’t let a day go without maligning Israel and Mr. Netanyahu. In contrast, he displays friendship to a thug and anti-Semite like Erdogan of Turkey, palled around with the deceased communist Hugo Chavez and keeps standing-up for the Iranian mullahs who want to kill us all or make us slaves to Islam. Those in the media ascribe all of this to a clash of personalities: Obama doesn’t like PM Netanyahu and Netanyahu returns the dislike.

Last week just about every European country voted to establish a Palestinian state, much of it on land designated for Israel by the League of Nations after WWI. The Europeans, together with communist and Islamic countries and dictatorships around the world, wish to go even further by actually dividing Jerusalem, Israel’s capital, in two, as was done in Berlin after World War II. You see, in Europe it’s fashionable to believe that Islam would live up to its billing as a “religion of peace” if Muslims could have just one more state, a 58th Moslem state, right next to Israel. The state will be called a “Palestinian” state, but it will actually be a Hamas state.

Despite the partnership between the terrorist organizations Hamas and Fatah (the new name for Arafat’s PLO), some European nations are demanding that Israel immediately accede to the Hamas/Fatah demands or they will proceed in the UN to declare a Palestinian State and impose on Israel conditions that will not only strip her of her capital, Jerusalem, but place Israelis in instant jeopardy from rockets launched against her from this newly declared state abutting Israel. Like Gaza before, this newest Palestinian state will become a terrorist state and a proxy of Iran.

In his Executive Order speech defending what most consider outright amnesty for five million illegal immigrants, President Obama cited the biblical verse in Exodus: “Thou shalt not afflict the stranger(22:20).” There is no question that unlawful immigrants will soon be awarded a full basket of on-going social services, as well as a fast-track to citizenship. Is the President correct in asserting that we have been afflicting the stranger?

Barack Obama may pay lip service to working with Republicans, but we know he’ll ultimately ram-rod to implement policies he hopes will transform America, actually damage her. Mr. Obama came to America with a chip on his shoulder, and that splinter remains despite Americans twice electing him. A man with a gracious and forgiving nature would have been moved by this outpouring; yet, despite all this, he seems unable to shed himself of his anti-Americanism, revealing a lack of charitable character.

By now, everyone knows of the attacks by Islamists in our midst, against citizens in New York City, Oklahoma City, Ottawa, Ontario, and the planned beheadings by jihadists of citizens in Sydney, Australia. Well, almost everyone. President Obama insists it is simply “workplace violence, or lone wolf violence, or disgruntled and senseless violence.” So to, do many liberals who’ve made multiculturalism their non-thinking idol.

During the recent Gaza war, Israel was forced to defend herself from 4,000 rockets and destroy 40 tunnels dug by Hamas terrorists planning to enter Israeli kindergartens and malls from underground hatches. In response to Israel’s self-defense, vicious anti-Israel, anti-Jewish protests organized by leftists and Moslems, erupted across Europe and in America, with signs calling for “Jews to the gas chambers.”

We fight because self-defense is a mandate from the Bible. Well, at least a mandate from the Torah, called by many the Old Testament. We fight to defend life. Because life is precious, the ultimate, we must defend it.

Two days ago, President Obama asked for $2 billion to help settle the unaccompanied illegals who've swarmed over our open borders. Two days later, he is demanding much more, almost $4 billion. We need to pause and watch out.

Had we never attacked Iraq back in 2004 and even if Saddam Hussein was today still in power, this attack against Iraq, the attempt by Islamists to take over that country, would still be happening.

Those in the Senate touting a bill for gay rights as the latest frontier for civil rights are, in effect, supporting a bill that will end up requiring across-the-board quotas in hiring and will force people to engage in activities against their religious conscience and beliefs.

For too long we have allowed our protection to be waylaid and submissive to the inane cliché: "But not all Moslems are terrorists" - as if we have no right to protect ourselves until all Moslems are terrorists. Nonsense! There comes a point when the threat level reaches urgency. We are there.

There seems to be a pall hanging over too many Americans - a sense of defeatism and resignation - regarding the avalanche of Executive Orders hitting us these days.
