GOP Debate: Does Mitt Romney Think Campaigning For Social Security Wins GOP Votes?

September 12, 2011 - 8:39 PM

Apparently, Romney’s planting the flag as the establishment candidate and the CNN/Tea Party debate is the latest evidence. That means he doesn’t care that the actual primary voters are anti-Big Government.

So to appease the GOP elite, he’s become the crusader for Social Security.  It’s a strange choice when even President George W. Bush took an anti-Social Security position.

Now to distance himself from the Tea Party, Romney is on the attack against Gov. Rick Perry who called Social Security a “Ponzi scheme.” Try finding Republican primary voters who disagree with that statement.
