On his show today, Rush Limbaugh said that having prevented the emergence of a conservative alternative to Mitt Romney, the GOP establishment is now worried Romney could lose the general election.
“This new-found concern for Romney is rooted in the ultimate dissatisfaction they are feeling at having vanquished a conservative alternative, that’s what motivated them all month.”
Rush was responding to columns written after the New Hampshire primary by “establishment Republicans” expressing skepticism about Romney’s candidacy.
“Now they think they’ve done it, now they think they’ve made sure that it’s not possible for a conservative to get the nomination, now the reality of that is setting in and they are facing the possibility that Romney could lose.”
