Why Shale Is So Important And How Fracking Helps Us Get Energy From It
Energy derived from shale stone and the processes of deriving it, namely hydraulic fracking, have been political hot buttons for a few years now. There's a lot of debate over whether or not fracking is a breakthrough technology or an environmental disaster.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has put together a great two and a half minute video explaining the basics. If you want to understand what everybody is arguing about, but haven't been able to find a simple explanation, here's your chance. (h/t Hot Air)
Basically, shale energy and the fracking that produces it give us access to centuries of new natural resources. It also provide us with millions of new high-paying American jobs. All of this while remaining incredibly safe with a small carbon footprint.
