People cross the tracks as they wait for the train to move off as part of a newly inaugurated train service to Kano, Nigeria, in Lagos, Nigeria Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. Nigeria has rebuilt the railroad tracks connecting its commercial centre of Lagos in the south to Kano, its largest city in the north, a distance of some 720 miles (1160 Km), with Minister of Transport Idris Umar declaring a major economic boost because of the rail link. Rail tracks connecting the cities were first built in 1912, but the connection became derelict because of corruption and neglect, until this rejuvenation of the railway system.(AP Photo/Sunday Alamba)
