November 13, 2012 - 7:34 AM
In this video grab provided by the APTN on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 Aishat Maksudova speaks at a hospital, at Kizlyar, Russia Caucasus provivce. The frail 56-year old woman seemed an easy target for a wolf, who attacked her outside her house in Russia’s province of Dagestan in the North Caucasus Mountains. The animal bit her by the arm and her leg and she fell to the ground, crying vainly for help without any villagers at sight. And then Aishat Maksudova reached for an ax she brought along to repair a fence. With a remarkable aplomb, she hit the wolf over the head several times until his teeth unclenched. (AP Photo/ APTN)
