A Virginia woman was arrested last week after showing up to visit her husband in jail. She was allegedly drunk and completely naked.
The woman refused to get dressed or leave and was kept in custody until she sobered up and was sent home. Maura Fussell has been charged with indecent exposure and being drunk in public.
Typically, police are forced to get in their car and go to a perpetrator who is suspected of being drunk, disorderly and without clothing, in order to arrest them. Anyone who has ever watched an episode of the TV show "Cops" know that police chase this kind of suspect down frequently.
But, Fussell, saved both the police and the taxpayer time and money by going directly to the jail. Although it is unclear as to whether she had any idea that what she was doing was illegal.
(Note: The alleged crime occurred in Reston, VA which is also where the CNS News.com offices are located. Mrs. Fussell is not employed by CNS News nor is anyone in the office acquainted with her.)
