On last night’s ‘Hannity’ on Fox News, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin teed off on the Department of Veterans Affairs scandal.
“When you hold someone accountable, it takes an energy and resource. And Barack Obama is lazy,” Palin said. “In fact, he warned us that he was lazy and he attributed that to having been brought up in Hawaii. It’s his words, not mine.”
“The problem starts at the top. When you have a commander-in-chief who has not been engaged and was told six years ago about the problems at the VA and has just pooh-poohed the problems.”
“He has just been engaging in rhetoric about problems of those under his charge - our troops – they have earned the benefits that we should be providing them, that they have been promised,” Palin continued. “And yet the commander-in-chief has let that all go by the wayside until it blows up.”
“And then it blows up in this public issue that we see today and he just spews more rhetoric nothings going to happen while Obama is in charge of our military and the VA and our federal government in general.”
President Obama met with Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki at the White House early Wednesday.
After the meeting Obama discussed the scandal of delays in treatment at VA hospitals with reporters, focusing on those that may have conducted improper practices rather than the VA Secretary.
"Anybody found to have manipulated or falsified records at VA facilities has to be held accountable," Obama said.
