13 hurt when van strikes garbage truck in Mass.

NEWTON, Mass. (AP) — A van carrying special needs adults has crashed into a garbage truck near Boston, injuring 13 people.
Police say 12 special needs passengers and the van's driver were injured in the Newton, Mass., accident. They say three people in the van, including one who had to be extricated with the Jaws of Life, suffered serious injuries.
No one in the garbage truck was hurt in the accident at about 9 a.m. Monday.
The van passengers were on their way to a day program. The crash remains under investigation.
Ten people were taken to Newton-Wellesley Hospital while three were taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
