2 soldiers killed in Ga. Army helicopter crash
FORT BENNING, Ga. (AP) — Two Army aviators from a special operations unit are dead after their helicopter crashed during a training exercise at Fort Benning in west Georgia.
Army spokeswoman Carol Darby says no one else was injured in the crash Monday afternoon. It happened on a range where Army Rangers and other special operations troops are conducting training exercises this week.
Darby said Tuesday the cause of the crash of the AH-6M Little Bird helicopter is being investigated.
The aviators killed were part of a battalion of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment based at Fort Campbell, Ky.
The Army has not released their names.
