Alaska pride parade canceled after car hits person

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A gay pride parade in Anchorage, Alaska, has been canceled after a person in the celebration was struck by a vehicle.

Anchorage Police Lt. Dave Parker says details are trickling in. He says authorities don't yet know the extent of the person's injuries.

He says the accident happened in the area of Sixth Avenue and E Street.

This year's Celebrate Diversity Parade began at 11 a.m. Saturday on the Delaney Park Strip in downtown Anchorage.
