CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that a Miami football player was taken from the practice field by paramedics as a precaution Tuesday morning after displaying signs of heat exhaustion.

The person said the player was "stabilized" and was expected to be fine. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because of university privacy policies.

The player was not immediately identified. Miami coach Al Golden typically does not address reporters on Tuesdays until his early afternoon news conference.

Paramedics were called around 8:30 a.m. to the field. By then, it was already 82 degrees in Coral Gables and felt like 88 when factoring in 79-percent humidity.
