LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — An Arkansas prosecutor says he plans to file adult murder charges against a 15-year-old authorities say confessed to killing his 16-year-old sister.
Prosecutor David Gibbons tells The Associated Press he'll file first-degree murder charges against the boy. The teen is set to appear in court for the first time Tuesday afternoon.
Gibbons tells the AP he decided to charge the boy as an adult "because of the nature of the crime." The prosecutor says the boy does not yet have an attorney.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says the boy turned himself into police Sunday morning and said he shot and killed his sister but did not offer a reason why.
