Baitz's 'Other Desert Cities' makes it to Broadway

NEW YORK (AP) — Rachel Griffiths and Judith Light will be jumping aboard "Other Desert Cities" when the play moves to Broadway.

Griffiths, who was on the TV series "Brothers & Sisters," and Light, who earned a Tony Award nomination for playing Vince Lombardi's wife in "Lombardi," will team up with Stockard Channing and Stacy Keach to portray a dysfunctional family trying to keep a secret.

Written by Jon Robin Baitz, "Other Desert Cities" won raves this fall at Lincoln Center. Griffiths, making her Broadway debut, will replace Elizabeth Marvel. Light will be replacing Linda Lavin.

Directed by Joe Mantello, "Other Desert Cities" is scheduled to begin preview performances at the Booth Theater on Oct. 12 and officially open on Nov. 3.
