The Best of 2009
January 3, 2010
Thousands of stories appeared on the CNSNews.com Web site in 2009. Here are some of our best – 25 stories that had impact.

In 2009, CNSNews.com not only asked members of Congress if they had read the economic stimulus bill, we also asked congressmen where in the Constitution they found the authority to order Americans to buy health insurance. If you missed it, the answer we got from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) might surprise you.
We also reported that the use of the water-boarding interrogation technique on Khalid Sheik Mohammed while he was detained at Guantanamo Bay averted another 9/11-style terrorist attack on Los Angeles; and that President Obama named a homosexual activist, Harry Knox, to a faith-based post even though Knox had disparaged Pope John Paul and other religious leaders.
Most of these stories had wider impact on the news world. Rep. Patrick Kennedy’s diatribe against the Catholic Church during an interview with CNSNews.com, for instance, made headlines – especially in Kennedy's home base, New England, where they ignited a firestorm.
Other stories went global, such as our item about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi being delayed from attending the global warming conference -- by a snow storm.
Happy New Year!
