Biden, Who Went to Private School: 'Tell That to All Those Private Schools'
(CNSNews.com) - Vice President Joe Biden, who attended a private Catholic high school in Delaware, pitted private schools against public schools in his speech to the NAACP on Thursday.
In an attempt to draw a contrast between President Obama and his Republican rival Mitt Romney, Biden charged that education is "not a priority" for Romney and his fellow Republicans, who would -- among other things -- cut class size.
"Just listen to what they say -- what he (Romney) says. He says the effort to reduce classroom size may actually hurt education more than it helps. Tell that to all those private schools," Biden said, prompting cheers.
Biden and at least one of his sons went to high school at Archmere Academy, which describes itself as a private, Catholic, college-prep high school. Tuition for the 2013-2013 academic year is $21,825.

In his remarks to the NAACP, Biden said President Obama sees a future where school graduation rates "are not a matter of what neighborhood you come from" or what your parents' background is -- or "what your economic circumstances are."
Biden said that everyone should be educated beyond high school -- so "everyone can find a decent job."
