(CNSNews.com) - In an ABC News interview used as evidence in the 2006 trial of 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui. Osama bin Laden discussed his belief in the need to kill Americans, targeting both military and civilians.

“We believe that the biggest thieves in the world today is America, and the biggest terrorists are the Americans,” bin Laden said during the May 28th, 1998 interview which prosecutors presented.

“The only way for us to fend off these assaults is to use similar means. We do not differentiate between those dressed in military uniforms and civilians; they are all targets in this fatwah,” bin Laden added.

U.S. Navy Seals killed Bin Laden Sunday in a raid on a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
