NEW YORK (AP) — The Nielsen Co. says CBS can claim a dozen of last week's top 20 shows, but in prime time overall, NBC wasn't far behind.
CBS was powered by its strong slate of dramas, along with "60 Minutes" and three editions of "Big Brother," according to figures released Tuesday by Nielsen.
But NBC got a boost from "America's Got Talent," which seized the top two slots.
For the week, CBS averaged 6 million viewers in prime time, compared to NBC's 5.2 million. Fox and ABC rounded out the top four networks.
As usual, NBC's "Nightly News" was the most-watched evening newscast.
