Explosion heard by UN building in Nigeria capital

ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) — Police say a large explosion has struck near the United Nations building in Nigeria's capital of Abuja.

Local police spokesman Jimoh Moshood said the explosion happened before 11 a.m. in the same neighborhood as the U.S. embassy and other diplomatic buildings.

Moshood said he had no additional information.
