Family: Ga. hotel fall survivor aware of others
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A hospital spokeswoman says a Kentucky woman who fell from a 10th-floor Atlanta hotel window remains in critical condition.
Witnesses told Atlanta police that 30-year-old model LaShawna Threatt and a second woman were "play wrestling" in a room at the W Atlanta-Midtown hotel around 3:15 a.m. Saturday when they crashed through a window and fell several stories onto a slanted glass ceiling above a sunroom. Rescuers found Threatt dead on the sunroom roof.
Family identified the critically injured woman as 25-year-old Ciara Williams. A spokeswoman at Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital said Sunday night that Williams remained in critical condition.
LaRhonda Hill told The Lexington Herald-Leader her cousin was doing "better than anticipated" and was aware of relatives. But Hill said they remain puzzled about what led to the fall.
