Florida Democrat Calls Fed Adviser ‘K Street Whore’

Washington (AP) - The Florida Democrat who said Republicans want sick people to "die quickly" is again facing criticism for his rhetoric - this time for calling a senior Federal Reserve adviser a "K Street whore" in a radio interview.
Rep. Alan Grayson hurled the insult at Linda Robertson on the Alex Jones Show last month while discussing the Fed's resistance to stronger oversight. Robertson is a former Enron lobbyist and Clinton administration adviser hired by the Fed this summer. Washington's K Street is where many lobbyists have their offices.
Grayson supports limiting the Fed's power. An economist early in his career, he said he didn't need to be lectured by "this K Street whore" about why such regulation isn't necessary. His spokesman stood by the remark Tuesday.
