(CNSNews.com) - It's official: After months of back-and-forth, the American Family Association and 18 other conservative advocacy groups are calling for a boycott of Ford Motor Company because the company funds groups that support homosexual marriage.
The AFA said Ford agreed to stop funding those groups (and advertising in their publications) last November, but then reneged on the decision when challenged by homosexuality advocates.
"The homosexual groups are very dedicated to their cause," AFA said in an email message on Wednesday.
"They're urging their supporters to buy a Ford product to prove to Ford and America that Americans support homosexual marriage. The success of the boycott will depend on whether or not pro-family individuals are as dedicated to their cause as the homosexuals are to theirs," said American Family Association Founder Don Wildmon.
"If pro-family individuals fail to respond with the same commitment as the homosexuals, homosexual marriage will be given a huge boost," he said.
AFA is asking conservatives to sign its "Boycott Ford" petition, call their local Ford dealer, send an email to Ford Chairman Bill Ford, and distribute the "Boycott Ford" petition.
"The future of our children is at stake," AFA warned.
