DETROIT (AP) — General Motors Co. is continuing to shake up its European leadership.
The company named Vice Chairman Stephen Girsky to chair the board that supervises its European Opel brand. He has been on the Opel board since January 2010.
GM is also appointing Chief Financial Officer Dan Amman and International Operations President Tim Lee to the Opel board. Germany-based Opel is the company's dominant brand in Europe.
Girsky replaces Nick Reilly, who resigned from the board and will retire from GM in March of next year. GM announced earlier this month that it was replacing Reilly as president of GM Europe. Opel-Vauxhall CEO Karl Stracke (Straw-ka) will take the job starting Jan. 1.
GM Europe lost $292 million before taxes last quarter.
