House panel presses Pentagon on Libya consultation

WASHINGTON (AP) — A House panel is asking the Pentagon to turn over to Congress any documents on the administration's consultation with lawmakers about the military operation in Libya.

Lawmakers complained that the administration did not consult with Congress before launching air strikes to protect civilians.

The House Armed Services Committee approved a measure by voice vote seeking the documents by Wednesday.

The panel began a marathon session to craft a Pentagon budget for next year.
