Ind. Gov. Daniels finds presidential run support
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels is finding plenty of support for a possible 2012 presidential bid at a state Republican Party dinner where his wife is the featured speaker.
The crowd of more than 1,000 people cheered and held signs saying "Run Mitch Run" Thursday night in Indianapolis as Daniels took the stage to introduce his wife, Cheri.
The governor joked about the speculation, repeating his stance that "I'm not saying I won't do it" but that it has never been his intention to run.
Daniels appeared following a short video introduction that seemed like a ready-made presidential campaign ad. The video by the state party was similar to a striking 2008 Daniels campaign ad, featuring dramatic music as statements of his accomplishments flash across the screen.
