LA teacher's aide pleads not guilty to sex charge
COMPTON, Calif. (AP) — A high school teacher's aide in Los Angeles has pleaded not guilty to committing lewd acts on a child
The felony complaint against 40-year-old Alain Salas alleges three counts of lewd acts and one count of contacting a minor for a sexual offense. He entered his not guilty pleas Wednesday afternoon to four felony counts in Compton Superior Court.
He's the fourth employee of the Los Angeles Unified School District arrested in recent weeks on child sex-related allegations.
The FBI has said the victim of the alleged crimes is a 15-year-old student.
Salas worked at John C. Fremont Senior High.
Los Angeles Unified is the nation's second-largest school district, with more than 640,000 K-12 students and more than 100,000 employees.
