(CNSNews.com) - Tonight Show host Jay Leno joked about the electronic pen President Obama used to sign recent tax increases into law while on vacation, “Isn’t that great- we live in an age where politicians can now raise your taxes while they're on vacation in Hawaii. This is a Democrat's dream come true. It’s unbelievable.”

“President Obama signed the new fiscal cliff tax increase into law while vacationing in Hawaii today. He used a thing called an auto pen- you know what that is? It’s an electronic way of signing your name when you’re not even there, isn't that great?” Leno said during Thursday night’s opening monologue.

“We live in an age where politicians can now raise your taxes while they’re on vacation in Hawaii.”

President Obama signed the “fiscal cliff” bill in Hawaii on Wednesday evening with an autopen. The president and his family are currently vacationing in Hawaii at a rented home in Kailua.

The legislation increases the income tax rate for individuals earning more than $400,000 per year and couples earning more than $450,000 per year.
