Man found with guns, tool near Pa. judge's home
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A man with a history of mental illness is in a Pennsylvania jail after police say they found him with two guns, ammunition and a pair of bolt-cutters near a judge's home.
Police in Stonycreek Township say they have no evidence directly linking 42-year-old John Frieko Jr. with any threat toward Johnstown District Judge Leonard Grecek.
But police have charged Frieko with unlawfully possessing firearms, prowling and other crimes.
Police say a relative of the judge encountered Frieko on Aug. 19 in some nearby woods. Frieko allegedly told the relative he had "unfinished business."
Frieko was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown for a mental health evaluation.
The Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown (http://bit.ly/ola2k1 ) says the charges were revealed Wednesday when Frieko was arraigned and jailed after not posting bond.
