GOP presidential candidate John McCain held onto his two-point lead over Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama over the weekend, according to a Gallup poll released Monday.

GOP presidential candidate John McCain held steady at five percentage points ahead of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, the latest Gallup poll revealed Thursday.

(CNSNews.com) – GOP presidential candidate John McCain held onto his two-point lead over Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama over the weekend, according to a Gallup poll released Monday.
 
McCain’s two-point advantage over Obama – 47 percent to 45 percent – is within the margin of error, but it demonstrates that the presidential race may be stabilizing.
 
The poll was taken Sept. 12-14 from phone interviews with 2,805 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points.
