MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AP) — Authorities say three bombs have exploded killing 25 people, wounding 12 in an attack carried out by an Islamic sect in northeast Nigeria.

They says the bombs exploded in Sunday afternoon in northeast city of Maiduguri. They targeted outdoors beer gardens.

Police blamed the attack on a group known locally as Boko Haram, which recently carried out an attack on the nations police headquarters.
