NEW YORK (AP) — New York City fire officials say a freight elevator inside a Manhattan building fell three floors, injuring 22 people.

Emergency units responded to the seven-story commercial building in Chelsea at about 7 a.m. Wednesday. Fire officials say all the injuries were minor, but nine people were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
