Officers to search burned Washington home for body
WASHOUGAL, Wash. (AP) — Washington state authorities plan to search the rubble of a burned home in Washougal Thursday looking for the body of a man who fired multiple rounds from rifles and handguns as the house went up in flames.
The gunfire prevented firefighters from dousing the flames Wednesday. One bullet pierced a police car window, but no people were hit.
A SWAT team surrounded the house, and the Clark County sheriff's office says authorities believe the gunman did not get out.
The Columbian reports that a man and his wife and the wife's sister lived at the home.
