MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon man critically injured in a house fire has been arraigned on aggravated murder charges in the slayings of his wife and four young children, who were found by firefighters.
Jordan Adam Criado entered no plea Friday in Jackson County Circuit Court. He appeared by video from the jail, slumped forward in a wheelchair and his hair disheveled.
He asked for an attorney and to speak to his pastor. Judge Lorenzo Mejia (muh-HE-ah) ordered him held without bail.
Jail and hospital officials declined to discuss his health or mental condition, citing privacy laws.
Criado is accused of stabbing his wife, Tabasha Paige-Criado and two of his children.
All six family members suffered smoke inhalation before firefighters dragged them from their burning house in Medford.
