WARRINGTON, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a Pennsylvania man clubbed his wife and young son to death with a baseball bat before committing suicide on a set of train tracks.
District Attorney David Heckler told the Bucks County Courier Times that the man called 911 on Friday night and told a dispatcher he had killed his family.
The bodies of the woman and 7-year-old boy were discovered in their Warrington home. Police found a bloody baseball bat nearby and say the two may have been asleep when they were killed.
Hours later, police responded to a report of a person struck by a train. Heckler told the newspaper that police found the man's car nearby and said it appeared the man had laid his head down on the tracks.
Heckler says the family may have been having financial problems.
