Pastor: Conn. man convicted of killings saw demon
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A pastor says a Connecticut man facing a possible death sentence for a fatal home invasion saw a demon as a teen while making a pipe bomb and described prayers to get rid of the devil.
Bryce Whiting testified that Joshua Komisarjevsky (koh-mih-sar-JEV'-skee) was visibly shaken as he described "a dark spiritual being with glowing eyes and menacing in his appearance" by a TV where he had made a pipe bomb. The pastor said he and others led Komisarjevsky in prayers telling the devil to leave as they placed their hands on him.
The defense says Komkisarjevsky's strict religious family failed to get him psychological help.
Komisarjevsky was convicted of killing Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her two daughters in their Cheshire home in 2007.
