MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say an unidentified man threatened to ignite a bomb inside a mosque in Tennessee on Sept. 11.

Murfreesboro Police spokesman Kyle Evans told The Daily News Journal that his department and an agent with the Department of Homeland Security are investigating who made the threat to the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro (http://bit.ly/qhnaZx).

The threat comes as the nation prepares to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on Sunday.

The Murfreesboro mosque is trying to build a bigger place of worship. It has seen vandals target signs at its new proposed site, which was also struck by arsonists last year who torched construction equipment that was being used to prepare the grounds.
