Powell: 'No Hiding Under Tables'

July 7, 2008

(CNSNews.com) - "We need to get back to ball games, we need to show the world that America is strong, we can come through this and we are not going to be hiding under tables," said Secretary of State Colin Powell Sunday, as he urged Americans to return to their normal routines.

"Let's remember what we are made of, we're made of strong strength, strong stuff, we have a backbone of steel," he said in an appearance on ABC's This Week.

According to Powell, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are fully cooperating with the United States effort to root out terrorism. He also hinted that the U.S. government will not reveal too much about its covert battle against Osama bin Laden.

"We are going to be very careful not to blabber too much about what might or might not happen with respect to military activities," he explained. He declared that bin Laden would be stopped "one way or the other."

Jordan's King Abdullah II also appeared on the program. "This is not a conflict between East and West or between Christian's and Muslims. We are dealing with international terrorists," he said.
