Remains believed to belong to Colorado woman found
KEENESBURG, Colo. (AP) — Denver authorities say they've found remains believed to belong to a 19-year-old woman who disappeared earlier this year after leaving a nightclub.
Denver District Attorney spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough says the remains were found Wednesday afternoon and that investigators were waiting for a positive identification and cause of death. Denver police received a tip about the case and had been searching a field near Keenesburg, about 40 miles northeast of Denver.
Police say Kenia Monge was at the 24K Lounge the night of March 31. Authorities say she was later seen at a gas station about two miles away around 3 a.m.
Kimbrough says investigators will be at the scene through the night.
