(CNSNews.com) - The Chicago Sun-Times reported Monday that four people are dead and 25 others wounded in "acts of violence" around the city this past weekend.

The dead include a 20-year-old man who was beaten and stabbed in a fight outside a gas station early Saturday. The man was in a van, when a "'party bus' pulled into the gas station, gang signs were flashed, and a physical altercation ensued," the newspaper quoted a law enforcement source as saying.

The three others killed over the weekend reportedly include a 19-year-old who was shot in the head early Sunday morning; a 47-year-old man who was shot while sitting inside a vehicle; and a 22-year-old man.

Of the at least 19 people who died in gunfire, seven were reported to be in critical condition, the Sun-Times reported Monday.

Many of the incidents involved drive-by shootings, and press reports mentioned several gangs by name, including the Gangster Disciples and the Maniac Latin Disciples street gang.

The Sun-Times article (read it here) provides a list of those killed or injured and offers the circumstances involved in each attack, where details are available.
