Suzuki cuts ties with Volkswagen
TOKYO (AP) — Suzuki Motor Corp. says it has decided to dissolve its partnership and cross-shareholding relationship with Volkswagen AG.
The Japanese and German automakers announced the partnership in 2009 but have been unable to agree on details of the cooperation. Volkswagen owns a 20 percent stake in Suzuki.
Suzuki says its primary goal was technology transfer and that it sought an indepdendent, equal partnership with Volkswagen. But it decided this was impossible.
