CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The trial of a man charged with impregnating a 15-year-old who went to his church and babysat his children has begun in New Hampshire.

Ernest Willis has admitted having sex with the girl in 1997. The girl, who's now 29, was required to apologize in front of the congregation for getting pregnant out of wedlock before giving up the baby for adoption.

Willis has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault, but he is standing trial on remaining charges. He maintains the sex was consensual but acknowledges the girl was under the legal age of consent.

A prosecutor says the woman will be the first witness in his trial.
