Tribeca names Boyer artistic director of festival
NEW YORK (AP) — The Tribeca Film Festival is getting a French connection.
Tribeca announced Monday that Frederic Boyer (boy-YAY') has been named the artistic director of the festival. Boyer had run the Directors' Fortnight at the Cannes (kan) Film Festival since 2009. Boyer is also the artistic director for the Les Arcs European Film Festival in France.
Tribeca's last artistic director was Peter Scarlet, who resigned in 2009.
Chief Creative Officer Geoff Gilmore will also take on a more active role in overseeing the festival's program.
Genna Terranova, former senior programmer, was also promoted to director of programming.
The 11th annual Tribeca Film Festival will be held April 18-29.
