Independence, Mo. (AP) - A woman charged with abducting a pregnant Missouri teen and plotting to cut the child from the womb has pleaded guilty to kidnapping and first-degree assault.

Eighteen-year-old Alisa Betts pleaded guilty Thursday as part of an agreement with prosecutors to dismiss a charge of felonious restraint. Her co-defendant, Lauren Gash, has been sentenced to eight years for her role.

Prosecutors say Gash met Amanda Howard on MySpace and lured her to a motel room where police later found scissors, a drop cloth and a fishing tool. They allege Betts got scared and called police.

Sentencing for Betts is set for next month. She faces up to 15 years in prison on each count.
