Pelosi: ‘Democratic Caucus...I Am Proud to Say is More Than 60% Women, People of Color and LGBTQ Members’

(CNSNews.com) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) delivered the virtual commencement address for Smith College on Sunday, telling the graduates the that House Democratic Caucus is “more than 60 percent women, people of color an LGBTQ members.”

Smith, according to its website, “is among the largest women’s colleges in the United States.”

“Smith remains strongly committed to the education of women at the undergraduate level, but admits both men and women as graduate students,” says its website.

“I am pleased to convey the congratulations of the Congress of the United States–and to bring special greetings on behalf of the House Democratic Caucus, which I am proud to say is more than 60 percent women, people of color and LGBTQ members,” Pelosi said.

Nancy Pelosi: Good afternoon, graduates.  Thank you for the immense honor of addressing you – the Smith College Class of 2020 – on this very special occasion. 

I am pleased to convey the congratulations of the Congress of the United States – and to bring special greetings on behalf of the House Democratic Caucus, which I am proud to say is more than 60 percent women, people of color and LGBTQ Members.
