(CNSNews.com) - Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D.-N.Y.) suffered a mental lapse when appearing on MSNBC on Monday morning saying, as he did so, “uh, um, uh—I got to remember the words.”

“We need bold action. We are not going to settle for some skimpy thing that doesn’t work,” Schumer said while addressing Republican proposals for further COVID-19 relief.

“You know,” he said, “what I called it, by the way, was, what I’ve been calling them, what I’ve been calling this is unworkable, uh, um, uh—I got to remember the words, but their good---.”

Host Joe Scarborough then interrupted Schumer: “Great words. Senator, senator, Mike Barnicle, Mike Barnicle is with us and has a question for you. Mike. Mike”

Schumer then continued, having found the words he was looking for: “They’re far too narrow. Weak. Unworkable, weak, and far too narrow. That’s it. That’s the three words.”

Here is the transcript of the moment in Chuck Schumer’s appearance on MSNBC where he could not find the words he wanted to say:

Chuck Schumer: “We need bold action. We are not going to settle for some skimpy thing that doesn’t work. You know, what I called it, by the way, was, what I’ve been calling them, what I’ve been calling this is unworkable, uh, um, uh—I got to remember the words, but their good---.”

Joe Scarborough: “Great words. Senator, senator, Mike Barnicle, Mike Barnicle is with us and has a question for you. Mike. Mike”

Schumer: “They’re far too narrow. Weak. Unworkable, weak, and far too narrow. That’s it. That’s the three words.”
