Responding to news that House Intelligence Committee Chair Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) had obtained telephone records of House Intelligence Committee ranking member Rep. Devin Nunes (D-Calif.), Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) called for access to Schiff’s phone logs.
In his impeachment report, Rep. Schiff details telephone records of Nunes, Nunes’ aide Derek Harvey, President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and investigative reporter John Solomon – which Rep. Gaetz says opens the door for access to Schiff’s phone records.
“I want to see how many times he and members of his staff coordinated with the whistleblower,” Rep. Gaetz told Fox News Host Sean Hannity on Tuesday:
If Adam Schiff is going to be getting the phone logs of Republicans like @DevinNunes, I want to see @RepAdamSchiff’s call logs.— Rep. Matt Gaetz (@RepMattGaetz) December 4, 2019

“It should be Adam Schiff sitting in that witness chair defending his work product.
“The Schiff report isn’t the Gospel. We don’t just take it as an article of faith – we should be able to ask questions. But, of course, when he wants to hide in the bunker and take secret depositions, oh, then, he’s a special prosecutor. But, when he produces his work, he doesn’t actually want to have to stand behind it.
“Hunter Biden should be in that witness chair – and by the way, if Adam Schiff is going to be getting the phone logs of Republicans like Devin Nunes, I want to see Adam Schiff’s call logs.
“I want to see how many times he and members of his staff coordinated with the whistleblower, their Trump-hating lawyers and everyone who’s trying to create a frenzy for a coup when we should be working on behalf of the interests of the American people.”
