Trump Greeted with Cheers and Chants of 'U-S-A' at College Football Championship

( Prior to the College Football Playoff National Championship game between the Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers and the Clemson University Tigers at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. on Monday night, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania were greeted with cheers and chants of “U-S-A.”

According to the Public Address Announcer, the President and First Lady joined members of LSU and Clemson’s ROTC Units prior to the singing of the National Anthem. As they came onto the field, they were greeted with cheers and eventually a "U-S-A" chant.  


Two-Time Grammy Award winner Lauren Daigle performed the National Anthem. 

The LSU Tigers won the game 42-25 to secure their first National Championship since 2007.
