Rush Limbaugh warns that the Obama Administration could buy financially-troubled American Airlines and force it to go "green" by flying passengers in "the airplane equivalent of the (Chevy) Volt" electric car.

Commenting on a Drudge Report headline about the bankruptcy fears from American Airlines on October 3rd, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh said:

“Will the regime buy American Airlines? They bought General Motors and Chrysler. (The administration) could buy American Airlines and make them start flying around in whatever the airplane equivalent of the Volt is.”

Limbaugh added: “What do you mean they don’t need an airline? They didn’t buy General Motors to have his own car. (Obama) bought General Motors to control the auto industry and to save the unions and there’s a lot of unions at American Airlines aren’t there?”

American Airlines has been engaged in long disputes with their unions and has threatened to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy to resolve their labor dispute.
