In an online interview, actress and long-time left-wing activist Jane Fonda admits that it is "a terrible thing to say," but states that "COVID is God's gift to the left." She adds that the left can use it to "harness" their "anger and make a difference."
In the interview, Fonda stated, "We can stop fascism. We are at a point -- this is a crossroads, an existential crossroads." She then crossed her hands to make an X.
"What a great gift, what a tremendous opportunity," she said. "We're just so lucky, we have to use it with every ounce of intelligence, and courage, and wherewithal that we have."
"This is it, this is it," Fonda said, and then added, "I just think COVID is God's gift to the left." Fonda then snickered about her remark.
"That's a terrible thing to say," she added. "I think it was a very difficult thing to send down to us, but it has ripped the Band-Aid off who [Trump] is and what he stands for and what is being done to average people and working people in this country."
"We can see it now, people who couldn’t see it before, you know, they see it now and we have a chance to harness that anger, and make a difference," said the actor/activist. "I feel so blessed to be alive right now."
