Rev. Graham: America 'Is Beginning to Implode, We're On The Precipice of Anarchy'

Rev. Franklin Graham (BGEA)

Evangelist Franklin Graham held a prayer rally in Cleveland before the start of the Republican National Convention during which he said the nation is in trouble, the nation has ejected God from the public square, "and our country is beginning to implode," that we are "on the precipice of anarchy.

Reverend Graham, son of world-renowned pastor Billy Graham, also stressed that the only solution is "a spiritual healing from God," that politicians cannot solve the problem, only God can.

In his July 18 Facebook Live prayer event, as reported by CBN News, Rev. Graham said, "This nation—it needs a spiritual healing from Almighty God. Our country—I don't have to tell you—is in trouble.... And the only hope for this country is God. It's not the politicians. It's God."

We must pray for the politicians, Republicans and Democrats, said Graham. It is important "that the politicians listen to God."

He then addressed the irreligious atmosphere in America today.

"The secularists, the progressives, many of these people, most of them are people that would be atheistic, and we have taken God out of our country," he said. "We have taken Him out of our nation. We have taken Him out of our government."

"We have taken Him out of the education system, and our country is beginning to implode," said the reverend.

"We're on the precipice of anarchy," he said.

Noting the assassination of police officers in Dallas and Baton Rogue, Rev. Graham said, "It seems as though our country is just unraveling. We are losing God's blessing. We're losing His hand of protection."

During the prayer, he also said, "Father, we're guilty of bowing down to the false gods of materialism, sensual pleasure; we've legalized the killing of children in their mother's womb; we've legalized same-sex marriage, and Father I know that this grieves Your heart."

"As a nation and as a people, we seem to be in danger of losing our souls," said Rev. Graham. "Who can save us? There's only one, and that is Your Son, Jesus Christ.... The problems of this world cannot be fixed by governments alone.  We need You to guide and direct our leaders."

In conclusion, Rev. Graham said, "My prayer, Lord, is that you will lead the American people to choose a president who can bring about real change, racial healing and prosperity to all Americans.  My prayer is that we will be one nation under God, who can truthfully say once again, 'In God we trust.'"

Rev. Graham will hold a similar Facebook live prayer rally before the start of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on July 25.
